Mazda vehicles receive top IIHS safety grade

Mazda new 2021 vehicles have all been named TOP SAFETY PICK+ vehicles, meaning that the entire lineup received the highest possible safety rating from the IIHS.

In order to receive the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, a vehicle must receive the top performance grade in every test including moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. A vehicle’s headlights and crash-avoidance technologies with pedestrians and other vehicles are also evaluated, and a vehicle must receive the top grade in order to qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation.

“With safety a top priority for Mazda, we are proud to have every Mazda vehicle tested earn the coveted 2021 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. This accomplishment stems from our commitment to our owners,” said Mazda North American Operations President Jeff Guyton. “Our customers have come to expect Mazda’s dedication to providing advanced safety technologies paired with dynamic styling, which give them a confident and more enjoyable driving experience.”
