A Look at the New 2021.5 Mazda CX-5

The CX-5 continues to build popularity with sporty crossover enthusiasts nationwide. Known for its advanced driving experience, powerful engine options, and premium features at non-luxury prices, the CX-5 is poised for even greater success. We are excited to announce new technology, safety, and other updates for the 2021.5 models, available in July 2021. Here, we preview each addition.

The 2021.5 Mazda CX-5 gets a bigger screen and connectivity boost

The CX-5 now features a standard 10.25-inch large center display loaded with the latest Mazda Connect infotainment software. The system is Apple CarPlay- and Android Auto-capable, offering you a nearly limitless amount of entertainment choices.

This fall, Mazda Connect will add Mazda Connect Services, which also includes a free trial. MCS enables you to monitor and control the CX-5 remotely, offering new conveniences. You can facilitate features such as remote engine start/stop, door locking/unlocking, and vehicle health status monitoring from an app.

i-Activsense safety goes standard on the 2021.5 Mazda CX-5

Mazda's acclaimed i-Activsense safety technology is now standard on each CX-5. This includes Smart City Brake Support Front, Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop&Go, Smart Brake Support Front, Pedestrian Detection, Lane-keep Assist System, Lane Departure Warning System, and more.

The 2021.5 Mazda CX-5 includes more grade-specific equipment

The GX now includes a standard wide-angle rearview camera, LED headlights and daytime running lights, automatic on/off headlights, High Beam Control, adjustable heated front seats, cloth upholstery, and rain-sensing front wipers.

The GS is now available with 19-inch wheels on models with i-Activ AWD. The new 2021 Kuro Edition stays in the lineup for the 2021.5 model year and includes optional black leather with red stitching in addition to the original Garnet Red leather upholstery. Since the Mazda Connect infotainment update affects all models, wireless Apple CarPlay is no longer available on the GT.

The 2021.5 CX-5 retains all the other features that make it a great compact crossover, including the 2.5L turbo and non-turbo engines, advanced agility and handling systems, luxurious comfort options, versatility and more.
